It’s so funny how fast time truly flies when you’re having fun. This week, students were able to act as employees & are moving right along using the Who’s Watching PBL we began from Next Lesson! Since my standards require me to teach a suite of products to include word processing, publishing, presentation, and spreadsheets it was important to me to incorporate each of these while we worked through this task. In the past, I only taught using Microsoft Office but I thought it would be a good time to try out Google Apps since we are a newly minted GAFE school. Let me tell you, it didn’t disappoint! This week, I hired my very first student. Yes, you read that right I hired a student. I am almost positive their look of surprise matched yours as you read this post. No need to fret, I was quick to shoot down their requests for a raise (they hadn’t done one minute of work yet) and let them know their $115, 750 salary would be significantly more than mine in the real world. If I could ask myself how I do it all, I’d really have no answer. Isn’t that what happens to most of us? I mean, being a teacher is no easy fete and most of us do MORE than teach. Whether you’re juggling work and kids or maybe work and being an edupreneur, we all appreciate a pat on the back every now and then.
I got that pat when I was asked to complete an interview for Edupreneur Today. I always love to see women pushing through whatever to accomplish their goals. I hope you’ll head over and read about my journey and peak around the amazing website Kiana has created for people just like us!!!
