2015- The year I create

It’s 2015. It’s a NEW year. I keep repeating these things to myself. I don’t know if there’s any particular reason, but I am not overly excited for a new year. However, I am overjoyed with the opportunities that I know this year will bring. Being realistic I do know that there will be good, bad, REALLY bad and REALLY good. The good thing is we already know this. I don’t know what order these things will occur in, but I know they’ll happen.

Over break, I was able to do a lot of reflecting and taking it easy. I stumbled across a blog post by Ali Edwards where she mentioned the idea of “One Little Word”. I did some deep thinking and even had a dream about it…so weird. I  came up with my word: Create.  This is the year I Create. This word, a verb, will be MY word. I aim to establish this word in many avenues of my life but especially in the folllowing:

  1. Relationships- I will create and nurture relationships. I will create purposeful relationships. Does this mean that my friends have to channge? No. This may mean that some relationships become less important or don’t get as much energy as they have in the past. When I thought about it, I remember the saying “There’s a reason and a season for everything”. That goes for relationships too.
  2. Opportunities- I will create amazing opportunities. This blog, 180 Days to Happy, was a thought. Now, it’s an opportunity. I have the chance to grow my blog and in turn create more opportunities. These opportunities aren’t just for me, they’re for you too. My goals for this blog can’t really be quantified at this point, but I do know that this will grow. I also will create opportunities in my personal life, some more involving than others.
  3. Memories- I will create memories. These memories, small and large, will be documented through the Project Life process. I am soooooo tired of all of the pictures “living” in my phone ( I just uploaded 2600). I am going to get them out of my phone and house them for my family in living albums we can see, touch, and relish.
  4. Purposeful Movement- I will create a plan for purposeful movement. For me, this one was the most deep and will require the most thought and planning. I will continue using my Erin Condren Planner for home and work. I will also dig a little deeper and root my movement in a more spiritual way. I currently use the She Reads Truth app and I’m looking to invest in the ESV Journaling Bible and Lara Casey’s Powersheets.

I don’t know exactly where this journey of Creating will take me, but I know that this is my year to do so.

2015, I’m ready
